Torchmate is proud to introduce the newest version of our Arc Voltage Height Control system. The new height control has been redesigned to reduce your cycle times and incorporate many features found on much more expensive units.

Competing units either adjust the torch height only at the beginning of a cut, or require you to personally control the adjustment with a switch. Our arc voltage torch height control is fully automatic, continuously making fine adjustments throughout the cutting process. This is particularly important when cutting thinner materials that react to the heat of the torch.

To properly configure your Torchmate Drivers software version 4 when using the Arc Voltage Height Control (AVHC) unit, the drop down box must be changed from False to True.

Dialing in your pierce height is the cornerstone to successful plasma cutting. Ideally, the pierce height should be 1/8” off of the material surface you are cutting, to allow the plasma to penetrate, but more importantly when using Arc Voltage Height Control systems, to help maintain the height of the torch tip while the voltage is being read, and maintained.  This guide is for red display AVHC units built before 2008.

This guide expalins how to adjust dwell timing for a red display AVHC.

Improper settings or dirty lifter stations can cause issues with the red display AVHC units.

This guide expalins how to setup and run a red display AVHC unit.

Proper maintenance and basic understanding of the Torchmate blue display AVHC unit are critical to ensureing that the unit operates properly.  Lifter station issues are the most common issue with the AVHC unit.

To use a blue screen arc voltage height control (AVHC) the Torchmate driver software must be configured to accept the signals comming from the unit.  This guide descrobes how to set up the AVHC in the driver sfotware and what each configuration screen adjusts in the AVHC unit.
