Corey Kausch, co-owner of RPG Offroad, started the business in his garage many years ago. Corey’s company rapidly established a reputation for turning out top-quality custom parts and it quickly outgrew the garage space. He talked with us about the process of growing the business and transitioning to a shop; along with the challenges it brought and solutions to those challenges. “There is always a consideration when you're a small business owner of how to use your finances wisely. We started RPG in our garage and over the years it has changed a lot. We had a big problem with productivity. We were always at the mercy of others manufacturing stuff for us. Put it this way, if there was something that was needed right away, I would have to go and bang on a suppliers door and ask them, ‘What do you want, a Starbucks card or a bottle of Tequila? We need parts.’ I would do that over and over and over again. Now that we have the Torchmate table, we can do that all in-house. We’re not at their mercy anymore.”
