AutoCAD Troubleshooting in Version 5

AutoCAD files are usually saved as dxf files, however to be imported into the Torchmate CAD/CAM program the must be converted into a Polyline dxf format. Check your version of Auto CAD for saving these types of files. We recommend that you use the R-14 format.

Many AutoCAD drawings are made up of a series of lines, which may be broken when imported. A connect path must be done in the Arrange menu to connect the lines and allow T-CAD to see them as one object.

If the AutoCAD drawing has many curves in the drawing, you may need to use the Convert to Curves tool in the Arrange menu, then connect path to solidify the drawing as one object. This may also be a difficulty when importing images from Corel. Check the allowable error, as .25 may be too small an amount for the software to process, and you may need to increase to a error of .5 to allow software to compute. The Connect Path tool will close any gap to the size given. If gaps are bigger than allowable error given, then it will not close those gaps, thus a bigger gap tolerance must be given to allow for them. (<.25-.5>)

Auto CAD files and drawings can be seen differently each time you import them into the Torchmate CAD/CAM, and using a combination of these tools may need to be in order to get your desired results.

A new method for autocad dxf images. Go to the File menu, click on Import, for Files of type select autocad dxf, then click on the customize button on the bottom of the screen.

All fields should be changed to look exactly like the window below.

This image was previously seen as broken, and thus need extra editing before it could be recognized by the Torchmate CAD/CAM program. By using this new method, the conversions are done automatically, which now allows you to simply apply the tool path, delete the original, and export to the driver software.
